WE ARE THE PIONEER VALLEY RIVERFRONT CLUB

OUR MISSIOn

Pioneer Valley Riverfront Club is a 501(c)3 nonprofit which operates a recreational facility in the North End of Springfield with the mission to promote river-based sporting activities, to develop river access, and encourage recreation in the Greater Springfield metropolitan area. PVRC will serve as point of access to the river for human-powered craft, located within easy walking and bike-riding distance of downtown Springfield.

OUR GOAL

Mountains

The creation of North Riverfront Park and relocation of PVRC marks the latest in a series of policies to revitalize the riverfront and capitalize on its value for recreation. By providing a safe and welcoming experience through our professional programs and high quality events, PVRC seeks to transform Springfield’s waterfront into a destination location.

OUR HISTORY

PVRC was established as a 501(c)3 in 2009 with the mission to promote river-based sporting activities, to develop river access, and encourage recreation in the Greater Springfield metropolitan area.

In 2011, the City of Springfield reclaimed the only remaining boathouse in the city and its surrounding riverfront property for the sole purpose of creating a public access boating and outdoor recreational facility. Rights to operate this facility were awarded to the Pioneer Valley Riverfront Club (PVRC).

PARK USE

North Riverfront Park is open to the public from 8am to 8pm in the summer, and 8am to about 7pm in the winter. Entry is free, parking is free, and the beautiful river views are priceless! To inquire about hosting an event here, please contact the Springfield Department of Parks, Buildings, and Recreation at 413-787-6435. The boat launch is open during PVRC programming, and on weekends, 8am to 8pm, and is free to use for human powered boats only.  Please see the complete rules for park use here.
