We are looking for a positive attitude, high energy, and an appreciation of the goals and challenges of the non-profit world. All positions offer competitive compensation based on experience.

DRAGON BOAT COACH

If you love being on the water and coaching adult athletes, join our coaching staff at the Pioneer Valley Riverfront Club (PVRC) in Springfield, MA as part-time Dragon Boat coach! Position is available immediately: the team trains indoors in the winter, to prepare for the on-water season. Put your paddling experience to work and adapt your skills to the sport of dragon boating while coaching an enthusiastic adult team. Recruiting and retaining members is important. Dragon Boat specific training will be provided. The hours, 5:30p-8pm Tue/Thu, 8a-10a Saturdays, all day of the Springfield Dragon Boat Festival, plus some flexible administrative time, make this a good second income opportunity. This unique coaching job also features breast cancer survivor-related themes and events. PVRC is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing riverfront access in the form of healthy activity for area residents regardless of socio-economic circumstances or athletic ability.
Qualifications:

Group Adult Physical Education or Training experience
-
Enjoys working with people and making training fun
-
Waterfront safety knowledge
-
Motorboat operation experience preferred, but training can be provided

Paddlesports (canoe, kayak, etc.) passion
-
Enthusiasm for learning the sport of dragon boating
-
Comfort utilizing online tools and resources

Excellent written and verbal communication
-
CPR, AED certification preferred
-
Spanish language a plus

ASSISTANT ROWING COACH

Rowers! Coxswains! Coaches! Come teach junior rowers in Springfield MA to learn, improve, and excel at rowing, afternoons 3pm to 6pm, Monday - Thursday.
