Step 1 - Register Your Team Name and Captain before June 1. Payment due at time of registration.
Step 2 - Create your Team Page and sign up your paddlers
Once you have registered, we will send you instructions about how to set up a Team Page and start adding paddlers to the roster.
Club Teams are existing dragon boat teams that already practice regularly and should bring their own drummer and steersperson. A good example is Springfield's own Dragon Rays. (BCS/ACS Teams should register as CLUB teams.) Club teams will register 16 to 20 paddlers, a drummer, a steersperson, and up to three team alternates for a total of 25 team members maximum.
Challenge Teams are typically organized just for this Festival. Their registration fee includes the cost of a training session for 20 paddlers. Challenge teams will register 16 to 20 paddlers, a drummer, and up to three alternates for a total of 24 team members. We provide a professional steersperson/coach for all Challenge Team races. Note: During any race, Challenge Teams must have at least eight women paddling in your boat.
Be sure to have a designated captain and a team name before you start to register!
Once we receive your deposit or payment, you can set up a team page and enter your roster. To download a pdf of the instructions, click on this link.
Your designated captain is responsible for adding team members to team roster. That's a maximum of 25 names for a Club Team and a maximum of 24 for CHALLENGE Teams. Also, if you have a CHALLENGE Team, in each of your races at least 8 of your paddlers — not including the drummer — must be women.
As your crew members register, they must sign an online waiver in order to participate. Paddlers younger than age 16 (as of June 23, 2018) must have their waivers signed by a parent or guardian. No paddlers younger than age 14 are allowed.

How to form a CHALLENGE Team
Dragon Boat CHALLENGE teams are typically comprised of paddlers who
represent a specific business, non-profit organization, church, school, or association. But, a CHALLENGE team may also be a group of friends, relatives, co-workers, and other who just want to show off their competitive edge and prove who is the most in sync. Here’s the key to dragon boat racing: All 20 paddlers must be doing the same thing at the same time.
The Festival is a rain or shine event. If severe weather conditions result in cancellation of the Festival, we cannot refund registration fees.
