EXLPORE THE RIVER BY BIKE
The Pioneer Valley Riverfront Club is situated adjacent to the Connecticut Riverwalk, a 3.7 mile path which runs from the South End Bridge north to Plainfield Street. The path is adjacent to the Connecticut River and provides beautiful vistas and wildlife viewing opportunities and is suitable for walking, running and biking. The path also serves as a conduit to many area destinations like the Basketball Hall of Fame and downtown restaurants and attractions.
Bike Rentals: $5 per hour.
Price includes helments.
Never learned to ride? Not a problem, adult 3 wheeled bikes will be available this spring.
Pioneer Valley Riverfront Club (PVRC) is a partner in the LiveWell Springfield Movement in an effort to revitalize this rich resource for active living.
Pioneer Valley Riverfront Club is leading this effort on the Riverwalk by encouraging use, promoting healthy activities and increasing traffic on the path through programming. PVRC regularly integrates the Riverwalk in its programming and also rents bicycles out of its North Riverfront Park facility.
PVRC is also focused on building consensus through the engagement of interested parties and local government agencies like the Department of Public Works and Parks Department as a means of coordinating trail maintenance and upkeep.
Those interested in learning more about the Connecticut Riverwalk and programs offered through PVRC are encourage to visit North Riverfront Park anytime throughout the year.
